AXIS-Y Sunday Morning Refreshing Cleansing Foam

What’s your current cleansing routine? Recently I’ve been using the new Sunday Morning Refreshing cleansing foam from Axis-y for my second step during my double cleansing routine.

What kind of cleanser is it?

This is a cleanser that is set as a PH level of 5.5 which helps with maintaining moisture and balance while cleansing your skin from excess oils, dirt, and other impurities.

Ingredients 101

Water, Glycerin, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Coco-Betaine, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Cocoate, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Benzoate, Polyquaternium-67, Xylitylglucoside, Citric Acid, Anhydroxylitol, Propanediol, Xylitol, Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice, Glucose, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Disodium EDTA, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Agrimonia Eupatoria Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Dipropylene Glycol, Allantoin, Perilla Frutescens Leaf Extract, Saponaria Officinalis Extract, Sodium Acetate, Pentylene Glycol, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Kigelia Africana Fruit Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Natto Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydroxycinnamic Acid, Rutin

Official ingredient list

Axis-y Foam cleanser has a minimal ingredient list and I was happy to see some familiar ingredients such as Centella Asiatica Extract, Licorice Root Extract, Glycerin, Allantoin, and Chamomilla Flower Extract. Most ingredients are considered level 1 or 2 on the EWG health scale which is a positive factor.

When dissecting the ingredients further, I realized many ingredients have skin soothing benefits such as Centella Asiatica and Sodium Hyaluronate. Also ingredients such as Licorice Root Extract are great for brightening and acne-prone skin. Most of the cleansing agents are Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate,  Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Coco-Betaine, and Potassium Cocoate.

An ingredient that could be considered sensitizing especially for extremely sensitive skin would be Citric Acid. This is commonly used as a PH adjuster and anti-aging. Even so it might be something to consider if you have extremely sensitive skin since it’s higher on the ingredient list. Also based on the ingredients and Axis-y website, the cleanser is considered fragrance-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, cruelty-free, and vegan.

Overall Experience

I really enjoyed the silky smooth texture of the foam cleanser. It makes my cleansing routine more therapeutic and relaxing. My skin doesn’t feel dry or stripped of it’s natural oil after the cleansing foam which is a plus. Even though it’s consider a foam cleanser, the lather is settled and velvety on the skin. If you’re looking for a gentle cleanser for your double cleansing or morning routine, this would be a good option.

If I had to rate this cleanser, I would give it a 3.75 out of 5 because it’s gentle, velvet texture, hydrating finish, and EWG 1 to 2 ratings. Even so, just like any skincare, it’s not for everyone. Skincare is a personal journey and some might find it irritating due to the citric acid.
