Urang recently released a reformulated version of the Pink Everlasting ampoule. As you may know, I mentioned this ampoule on both my blog and Youtube channel. Of course somethings has changed since then.
What are some differences?
Immediately at first glance, there is already a HUGE difference. The original formula was a very light baby pink color whereas the renovated ampoule is a deeper shade of pink. Why is that?
Why did the color change? Ingredient?
In the renewed formula, hydrolyzed collagen was replaced with hydrolyzed quinoa. Hydrolyzed collagen was derived from fish skin/scales, whereas the hydrolyzed quinoa is plant-derived. Also hydrolyzed quinoa is great for firming and moisture. You maybe thinking, “well why did the color change?” Hydrolyzed quinoa is also known for enhancing color retention. So naturally the color will become more contrast. Another ingredient which was changed was the Cyanocobalamin, a man-made vitamin B12. The ingredient was changed to Methylcobalamin, which is also a vitamin B12.
Cyanocobalamin vs Methylcobalamin? Different?
They are both vitamin B12, BUT one of them is synthetic whereas the other one is natural. As you may guessed it, Cyanocobalamin is man-made. This vitamin B12 is commonly used in supplements since it’s more secure and cost-effective to use. Usually when taking it as a supplement, our body will naturally convert it to methylcobalamin. Also methylcobalamin is much more higher quality and effective for the skin since it absorbs more easily. It totally make sense!
Is it vegan??
Technically yes it is vegan since it does not contain fish skin or scales any longer, BUT it is not officially vegan-certified by an organization. Even though it is a vegan ampoule, most products can not be certified vegan unless the company is located in US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. As you may know, Urang is a Korean brand, located in South Korea. Btw this is my personal opinion/research, so please research more about “vegan-certified” products and regulations.
In the meantime, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, and check out my recent video on YouTube. I did a whole #onebrandskincare review on Urang. Keep in my mind, I reviewed the old formula of the Pink Everlasting ampoule in the video. I’ve been using the new ampoule quite frequently and am gradually liking it more too.
** side note: These products were gifted by Urang through the Urang supporters program. Of course, my opinions & reviews are completely honest!!
